for plant clinic.. how far into the tree trunk to get info on what's making a gall.. some bark seems to be expanding and no oozing but hard pieces can be scraped off the gall.. how much material from the outside is efficient to see what is this gall from or do I need to remove a limb above the gall area? .. gall is low on the main trunk so I don't know if stem of tree needs to be sent or soil needs to be sent.. leaves.. or send all? its a 4 year old 7 variety grafted apple tree btw
