My caryopteris needs pruning — it hasn’t been cut back in several years. As a result, the stems are quite woody and about 1” diameter. Can this be pruned down to 1’ above the ground, or should I use a different approach?

Caryopteris bloom on new wood. Cutting it back hard will help keep a nice tight shape - maybe 2' instead of 1 '

I have a flowering plum tree that I had put a couple hoses in metal cords anchored to metal posts driven into the ground to keep the tree upright when it had almost fallen over several years ago. It is much larger now but the hose/metal cord is now grown into the tree. Should I just leave it grown into the tree or try to take it out?

I have a tree, improperly pruned, that has the bacterial infection and have been told to spray with bleach in solution. Is this a bad idea?

What about suckers? Should we cut these all off?

unless bleach is registered to use on the tree for a bacterial infection, you cannot use it as such
